Scottie Scheffler opened up about Tony Romo’s golf skills and his beating Jordan Spieth. The American golfer is playing this week at the RBC Heritage, and ahead of that, he attended a press conference on Thursday.
The World No. 1 was asked about a comment made by Romo, who has a net worth of $80 million (via Celebrity Net Worth), about his aim to beat Scheffler in golf. The former Masters winner reacted to how Romo beat Spieth in the game.

“He’s beat Jordan before, so shout-out to Jordan for that,” Scheffler said. “But he hasn’t beaten me yet. I’m not going to say that he can’t because he’s a good golfer, so I’m definitely not going to go out and say that he can’t, and we also play a lot of golf together, and in golf you never really know what’s going to happen.
Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler is preparing to play this week on the PGA Tour. The American golfer had a marvelous start to his game this season on the PGA Tour with an impressive win at The American Express. He carded four rounds of 63, 64, 68, and 66. He then played at the WM Phoenix Open, where he carded rounds of 73, 65, 67, and 64.
Scottie Scheffler settled in a tie for third place and then recorded a T4 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Some of his other notable finishes from this season on the PGA Tour are T4 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and T12 at The Genesis Invitational. He was tied for 24th place at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and T22 at The Players Championship.
In his last outing at the Masters, he carded rounds of 70, 74, 65, and 68 to settle in solo second place.
Scottie Scheffler opens strong with 3-under start at RBC Heritage
Scottie Scheffler had a fantastic start to his game at the 2026 RBC Heritage. He started the game on the first tee and had a bogey on the first hole. He then added three birdies and a bogey on the front nine, and two birdies on the back nine for a 3-under 68. Scheffler opened up about his performance in the game in the post-round press conference.
“I feel like I did some good stuff out there,” Scheffler said. “Conditions were tough late in the day. Yeah, I did a lot of good things. Would have liked to have had a better start, but outside of that, I felt like I executed pretty well.
Meanwhile, Ludvig Åberg took the lead in the game after the opening round of the RBC Heritage. He carded a round of 63 and settled with a score of 8-under, taking a one-shot lead in the game.
