For those of you new here, I’m Louise Roe, founder of Sharland England, the homewares brand I founded in 2021- that has captured my heart entirely. I also wear another hat professionally, as a broadcaster & fashion journalist.
I began my career in magazines as a news editor for Vogue.com. It was my job to find 10 news stories from the fashion world every morning by 9 am and have them published in the daily newsletter. Then every evening, I’d meet my cameraman, grab the mic and head off to whichever event was going on in London (the BAFTA’s, a gallery launch, fashion show) and interview people on the red carpet. It was a baptism of fire into digital video and I just loved it.
