Footage has been released by the office of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, showing his meeting with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
Haniyeh, the politburo chief of the Iran-backed Palestinian group Hamas, is in Tehran to attend the funeral of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday.
“Head of Hamas’ political bureau, Mr. Ismail Haniyeh, offered his condolences on behalf of the Palestinian nation & government on the martyrdom-like death of President Raisi & his entourage to Imam Khamenei & the Iranian nation,” reads a statement from Khamenei’s X account.
