Guys, tomorrow is the first day of spring! We did it!!! Here are some tulips to celebrate.
Have you read Strangers, the divorce memoir by Belle Burden? One evening, she discovers her hedge-fund husband is having an affair; the next morning, he announces that he’s done and…leaves. Her entire life flips upside down — all while she’s taking care of their three kids during the pandemic — and she has to literally drag herself off the bathroom floor. Belle comes from extreme generational wealth — at times, I was like, maybe it’s not the end of the world if you don’t get the tennis club membership in your split? — but her story of finding her footing, and herself, after her marriage implodes was incredibly compelling, vulnerable, and human.
We’ve talked about how walking (just walking) can change your life, and for my fellow walkers, I’d highly recommend BlissMove sneakers, which are comfy, soft, and supportive and make me want to throw away my old sneakers.
These Trader Joe’s chocolate-covered pistachios are also very good.
Finally, a friendly reminder of poet and national treasure Kate Baer, who spent the night at my house last night! We played Ono 99 (as one does) and talked about work, parenting, bookstores, and why it took her eight years to start watching Succession. Here’s a poem of hers, just because:
