Roman Reigns takes subtle shot at The Rock on WWE RAW

Roman Reigns returned on the latest episode of WWE RAW after missing last week’s show. The World Heavyweight Champion officially welcomed Jacob Fatu to The Bloodline on the program. Surprisingly, he also took a subtle shot at The Rock.

On WWE RAW, Reigns highlighted the achievements of the Anoa’i-Fatu family in pro wrestling. He namedropped many legends during the promo, including the Wild Samoans, Yokozuna, Rikishi, and Umaga. The OTC also claimed that his family produced the greatest tag team of all time, The Usos.

The Rock is among the most successful superstars to come out of the real-life Bloodline. After dominating WWE during the Attitude Era, he went on to make a huge name for himself in Hollywood. However, Roman Reigns noticeably omitted his name while discussing the greats of his family. Given The Final Boss’ pedigree and contributions to the business, the omission was a subtle shot by the OTC.

Roman Reigns vs. The Rock is a dream match for many WWE fans. The sports entertainment juggernaut has been teasing the bout for years. In 2024, Reigns wanted to face The Final Boss for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania XL. However, the duo ultimately joined forces to feud with Cody Rhodes.

The 10-time WWE World Champion was last seen on the company’s programming at Elimination Chamber 2025. He orchestrated John Cena’s unexpected heel turn at the premium live event and brutally attacked The American Nightmare. He was widely expected to show up at WrestleMania 41, but it didn’t happen.

Roman Reigns attended a historic event before WWE RAW

On June 14, 2026, UFC presented Freedom 250 in Washington, D.C. The event was held on the South Lawn of the White House to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the US. US President Donald Trump backed UFC Freedom 250.

In July 2025, Trump officially announced the show during a rally in Iowa. The POTUS has been a lifelong fan of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and has attended many of its events.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H and World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns attended UFC Freedom 250 before this week’s RAW. The OTC also shared a picture from the event. However, many fans criticized him for supporting a show backed by Trump.

UFC Freedom 250 was headlined by Justin Gaethje vs. Ilia Topuria for the Lightweight Championship. Gaethje defeated Topuria by TKO in the fourth round.
